Message text: There is no active delta initialization for this IS/QS/DATA source
No active delta initialization available for this DataSource.
The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.
You have to initialize the delta load for a DataSource before you are
able to load the delta data from it.
If you want to load deltas only for the purposes of testing, or you do
not require any initialization data (because you have already uploaded
it using a full upload, for example) use an initialization simulation.
This way, only the init. entries you require are made in the control
tables of the source system, and a 'dummy' entry appears in the
Monitor, setting the load status to green.
No data is in fact loaded, however, and the initialization takes only a
few seconds to complete.

RSM1056
- There is no active delta initialization for this IS/QS/DATA source ?The SAP error message RSM1056, which states "There is no active delta initialization for this IS/QS/DATA source," typically occurs in the context of SAP Data Warehousing, particularly when working with the Delta Queue in SAP BW (Business Warehouse) or SAP BW/4HANA. This error indicates that the system is unable to find an active delta initialization for the specified InfoSource (IS), Queue Source (QS), or Data Source.
Cause:
- Missing Delta Initialization: The most common cause of this error is that a delta initialization has not been performed for the specified data source. Delta initialization is a prerequisite for delta data extraction.
- Incorrect Data Source Configuration: The data source may not be properly configured or activated in the SAP system.
- Data Source Deactivation: The data source might have been deactivated or not set up correctly in the BW system.
- Technical Issues: There could be technical issues or inconsistencies in the BW system that prevent the delta initialization from being recognized.
Solution:
Perform Delta Initialization:
- Go to the DataSource in the SAP BW system.
- Execute the delta initialization process for the specific data source. This can typically be done through transaction codes like
RSA3
(for testing) orRSC3
(for delta initialization).- Ensure that the delta initialization is completed successfully.
Check Data Source Configuration:
- Verify that the data source is correctly configured in the SAP BW system.
- Ensure that the data source is active and that the necessary settings (like extraction method) are correctly defined.
Re-activate Data Source:
- If the data source is inactive, reactivate it. You can do this in the DataSource maintenance transaction (e.g.,
RSA1
).- After reactivation, perform the delta initialization again.
Check for Technical Issues:
- Review the logs and monitor the process chains to identify any underlying issues that may be affecting the delta initialization.
- Check for any inconsistencies in the BW system that may need to be resolved.
Consult Documentation:
- Refer to SAP documentation or notes related to the specific data source and delta initialization processes for additional guidance.
