Message text: Cannot assign daemon &2 to data transfer process &1
You are trying to assign data transfer process (DTP) &V1& to DataSource
&V3&. DataSource &V3& is assigned to daemon &V2&. All DTPs that transfer
data to InfoProvider &V4& and the DataSources of these DTPs must be
assigned to the same daemon. A different daemon is assigned to at least
one other DTP and to its DataSource.
You cannot assign data transfer process &V1& to DataSource &V3& .
Do one of the following:
Use only one of the data transfer processes for real-time data
acquisition.
Assign the same daemon to the data transfer process and to its
DataSources. For technical reasons, multiple data transfer processes
cannot transfer data to the same DataStore object at the same time.
The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

RSCRT348
- Cannot assign daemon &2 to data transfer process &1 ?The SAP error message RSCRT348 indicates that there is an issue with assigning a daemon to a data transfer process (DTP). This error typically occurs in the context of SAP BW (Business Warehouse) or SAP BW/4HANA when there are problems with the configuration or availability of the background processes that handle data transfers.
Cause:
- Daemon Unavailability: The specified daemon (background process) is not available or not running. This could be due to system configuration issues or the daemon process being stopped.
- Configuration Issues: There may be misconfigurations in the settings for the data transfer process or the associated daemons.
- Resource Limitations: The system may be running out of resources (e.g., memory, CPU) to allocate to the daemon.
- Network Issues: If the daemon is supposed to run on a different server, network connectivity issues could prevent it from being assigned.
Solution:
- Check Daemon Status: Verify that the daemon processes are running. You can do this by checking the transaction codes like
SM50
orSM66
to see if the relevant background processes are active.- Restart Daemons: If the daemon is not running, restart it. This can often resolve temporary issues.
- Review Configuration: Check the configuration settings for the data transfer process and ensure that they are correctly set up. This includes checking the settings in the Data Warehousing Workbench.
- System Resources: Monitor system resources to ensure that there are enough available for the daemons to operate. If necessary, optimize resource allocation or increase system capacity.
- Check Logs: Review the system logs (transaction
SM21
) for any additional error messages or warnings that could provide more context about the issue.- Network Configuration: If the daemon is on a different server, ensure that there are no network issues preventing communication between the servers.
