  • Show details Hide details
  • What causes this issue?

You tried to start a daemon for real-time data acquisition (RDA) to
which the data transfer process &V1& is assigned. The PSA table of the
source of this DTP contains completed delta requests that were not yet
updated in the target of this DTP (InfoProvider &V2&). One of these
    requests has the SID &V3&.

    System Response

The RDA daemon cannot be started before all the completed delta requests
from the corresponding DataSource have been updated in the InfoProvider
&V2& and the data has been activated there, if necessary.

    How to fix this error?

If you still want to supply the InfoProvider &V2& with data by RDA, load
the missing delta requests from the PSA and activate the data in the
InfoProvider if necessary. You can change the type of the data transfer
process &V1& to <ZK>Standard </>and execute the DTP. If required,
activate the corresponding requests in the administration view of the
    InfoProvider.
If you do not want to define further parameters for the InfoProvider
&V2& by RDA, delete the assignment to the DataSource in the context menu
    of the DTP.
Then start the RDA daemon again.

    Procedure for System Administrators

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message RSCRT340 - RDA daemon not started; completed delta requests not in target ?

The SAP error message RSCRT340 indicates that the RDA (Remote Data Access) daemon has not started, and as a result, completed delta requests are not being processed in the target system. This error typically occurs in the context of SAP BW (Business Warehouse) or SAP Data Warehousing solutions when there are issues with data transfer processes.

    Cause:

    1. RDA Daemon Not Running: The primary cause of this error is that the RDA daemon, which is responsible for processing delta requests, is not running or has crashed.
    2. Configuration Issues: There may be configuration issues in the RDA settings or in the data transfer process.
    3. Network Issues: Network connectivity problems between the source and target systems can also lead to this error.
    4. System Resource Limitations: Insufficient system resources (CPU, memory) can prevent the RDA daemon from starting.
    5. Authorization Issues: The user or service account running the RDA daemon may not have the necessary permissions.

    Solution:

    1. Start the RDA Daemon:

      • Check if the RDA daemon is running. If it is not, start it manually. You can do this through transaction SM37 (Job Monitoring) or by using the appropriate command in the operating system.
      • If the daemon fails to start, check the logs for any error messages that can provide more insight.
    2. Check Configuration:

      • Review the configuration settings for the RDA in the SAP system. Ensure that all parameters are correctly set.
      • Verify the settings in the Data Transfer Process (DTP) and ensure that they are correctly configured.
    3. Network Connectivity:

      • Ensure that there are no network issues between the source and target systems. Check firewalls, network routes, and connectivity.
    4. System Resources:

      • Monitor system resources to ensure that there are enough CPU and memory available for the RDA daemon to run. If necessary, allocate more resources or optimize existing usage.
    5. Authorization:

      • Verify that the user or service account running the RDA daemon has the necessary authorizations to access the required objects and perform the necessary actions.
    6. Check Logs:

      • Review the SAP system logs (transaction SM21) and the RDA daemon logs for any additional error messages or warnings that can help diagnose the issue.
    7. Restart the System:

      • If all else fails, consider restarting the SAP system, as this can sometimes resolve issues with services that are not starting correctly.
