  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message RSBK206 - Previous request (ID &1) has status 'red' ?

The SAP error message RSBK206 indicates that a previous request (identified by its ID) has a status of 'red', which typically means that there was an error or issue with that request during the data loading process in SAP BW (Business Warehouse). This status can prevent subsequent requests from being processed successfully.

    Cause:

    1. Data Load Failure: The most common cause is that the previous data load request encountered an error, which could be due to various reasons such as:

      • Data inconsistencies or errors in the source system.
      • Issues with the transformation rules or data mapping.
      • Problems with the data extraction process.
      • Network issues or timeouts during data transfer.
    2. Data Source Issues: The data source might be unavailable or not properly configured, leading to a failure in data extraction.

    3. Process Chain Errors: If the request is part of a process chain, an error in a preceding step can cause the entire chain to fail.

    Solution:

    1. Check the Previous Request:

      • Use transaction code RSA1 to access the Data Warehousing Workbench.
      • Navigate to the InfoProvider and check the status of the previous request using the request ID provided in the error message.
      • Review the error logs to identify the specific issue that caused the request to fail.
    2. Analyze Error Logs:

      • Use transaction code RSMO to view the monitor for data loads and check for any error messages associated with the failed request.
      • Look for specific error messages that can guide you to the root cause.
    3. Correct the Issues:

      • Based on the error logs, take corrective actions. This may involve fixing data issues in the source system, adjusting transformation rules, or resolving connectivity problems.
    4. Reprocess the Failed Request:

      • Once the issues are resolved, you can reprocess the failed request. This can be done by selecting the request in the monitor and choosing the option to reprocess it.
    5. Check Process Chains:

      • If the request is part of a process chain, ensure that all preceding steps have been executed successfully. You may need to rerun the entire process chain if there are dependencies.
    6. Consult Documentation:

      • Refer to SAP documentation or support notes for additional guidance on specific error codes or scenarios related to your issue.
