  • Show details Hide details
  • What causes this issue?

One of the following situations occurred:
You have activated error handling in the standard DTP but there is no
    error DTP.
Error handling is deactivated in the standard DTP even though there is
    an error DTP.

    System Response

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

    How to fix this error?

Check whether you need error handling:
If you want to perform error handling, you should note that the data
records written to the error stack during this process can only be
updated to the data target by an error DTP. Create an error DTP (for
automatic updates) that you can integrate into the process chain.
If you do not need error handling, deactivate this function. You will
need to delete the existing error DTP, because new data records cannot
be created in the error stack if error handling is deactivated. Before
continuing, make sure that you have updated all existing data records in
    the error stack.

  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message RSBK123 - Settings for error handling and error DTP do not match ?

The SAP error message RSBK123 indicates a mismatch between the settings for error handling in the Data Transfer Process (DTP) and the error handling settings in the InfoPackage or the source system. This error typically occurs during data loading processes in SAP BW (Business Warehouse) when there are inconsistencies in how errors are managed.

    Cause:

    1. Mismatch in Error Handling Settings: The DTP and the InfoPackage may have different configurations regarding how to handle errors. For example, one might be set to "Stop on Error" while the other is set to "Continue on Error."
    2. Inconsistent Settings: The settings for error handling in the DTP do not align with the settings defined in the source system or the InfoPackage.
    3. Data Source Configuration: The data source might have specific error handling settings that conflict with the DTP settings.

    Solution:

To resolve the RSBK123 error, follow these steps:

    1. Check DTP Settings:

      • Go to the DTP in question and check the error handling settings. Ensure that they are configured correctly according to your requirements.
      • Navigate to the DTP in the SAP BW system, and check the "Error Handling" tab.
    2. Check InfoPackage Settings:

      • Review the InfoPackage associated with the DTP. Ensure that the error handling settings in the InfoPackage match those in the DTP.
      • You can find the InfoPackage in the Data Warehousing Workbench (RSA1) under the relevant data source.
    3. Align Settings:

      • If there is a mismatch, align the settings between the DTP and the InfoPackage. For example, if the DTP is set to "Continue on Error," ensure that the InfoPackage is also set to the same option.
    4. Check Source System Settings:

      • If applicable, check the source system settings for error handling. Ensure that they are consistent with the DTP and InfoPackage settings.
    5. Test the Data Load:

      • After making the necessary adjustments, test the data load again to see if the error persists.

    Related Information:

    • Error Handling Options: Common options for error handling in DTPs include "Stop on Error," "Continue on Error," and "Log Errors." Understanding these options can help in configuring the DTP and InfoPackage correctly.
    • Transaction Codes: Use transaction codes like RSA1 (Data Warehousing Workbench) to access DTPs and InfoPackages.
    • SAP Notes: Check for any relevant SAP Notes that might provide additional insights or patches related to this error message.

By ensuring that the error handling settings are consistent across the DTP, InfoPackage, and source system, you should be able to resolve the RSBK123 error effectively.
