Message text: Extraction mode cannot be changed in BI Content systems
You want to change the extraction mode of a data transfer process (DTP)
in a BI Content development system. This is not possible.
In the delivery version, DTPs have the following key:
Source/Source type
Target/Target type
Extraction mode
If the extraction mode changes, the delivery version of the DTP is
assigned a new ID. One result of this is that process chains that
contain the DTP with the old ID as a process variant are no longer
valid.
The extraction mode was not changed.
Create a new DTP with the required extraction mode.
Once you have done this, replace the DTP in the process chains affected.
If the DTP in the original extraction mode is no longer required, you
can delete it.
The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

RSBK067
- Extraction mode cannot be changed in BI Content systems ?The SAP error message RSBK067 indicates that the extraction mode for a DataSource cannot be changed in BI Content systems. This typically occurs when you attempt to modify the extraction mode of a DataSource that is part of the standard BI Content, which is not allowed due to the way these DataSources are designed and managed.
Cause:
- BI Content Restrictions: The DataSource is part of the standard BI Content provided by SAP, and certain properties, including the extraction mode, are locked to maintain data integrity and consistency.
- DataSource Configuration: The DataSource may already be configured in a way that does not allow changes to the extraction mode, especially if it has been activated or used in existing data flows.
- System Settings: The system may have specific settings or configurations that prevent changes to the extraction mode for certain DataSources.
Solution:
- Check DataSource Status: Verify if the DataSource is active or has been used in any data flows. If it has been used, you may need to create a new DataSource or modify the existing one in a way that does not involve changing the extraction mode.
- Use Custom DataSource: If you need a different extraction mode, consider creating a custom DataSource based on the standard one. You can copy the existing DataSource and then modify the extraction mode as needed.
- Consult Documentation: Review the SAP documentation for the specific DataSource to understand its limitations and recommended practices.
- SAP Notes: Check for any relevant SAP Notes that may provide additional guidance or updates regarding the DataSource and its extraction mode.
- Contact SAP Support: If you are unable to resolve the issue, consider reaching out to SAP Support for assistance, especially if you believe there is a need for a change in the standard behavior.
