RSBC201
- You can no longer use the selection on field &1 in the source ?The SAP error message RSBC201, which states "You can no longer use the selection on field &1 in the source," typically occurs in the context of SAP BW (Business Warehouse) when there is an issue with the data source or the selection criteria used in a query or report.
Cause:
- Field Deletion or Change: The field referenced in the error message (&1) may have been deleted or changed in the underlying data source (e.g., InfoProvider, DataSource, or InfoObject).
- DataSource Changes: If the DataSource has been modified (e.g., fields added, removed, or renamed), it can lead to this error when trying to execute a query that relies on the old structure.
- Query Definition Issues: The query definition may be outdated or not aligned with the current structure of the underlying data model.
- Transport Issues: If changes were transported from one system to another (e.g., from development to production), inconsistencies may arise if the transport did not include all necessary objects.
Solution:
- Check the Data Source: Verify the structure of the DataSource or InfoProvider to ensure that the field in question still exists and has not been modified.
- Update Queries: If the field has been changed or removed, you may need to update the queries that reference this field. This can involve:
- Modifying the query to remove the selection on the field.
- Re-adding the field if it has been restored or renamed.
- Rebuild the Query: In some cases, it may be easier to rebuild the query from scratch, especially if there are multiple changes.
- Transport Consistency: Ensure that all relevant objects have been transported correctly and that there are no inconsistencies between the development and production environments.
- Check for Authorizations: Sometimes, the error can also be related to authorization issues. Ensure that the user has the necessary permissions to access the fields in question.
