Message text: Some queries might behave differently in BW/4 HANA (formula calculation)
You have set the 'RSROA_CL_FORM_SWITCH' switch to 'ON'. (For further
information about 'Switch', see SAP Note 2094114.)
In BW Release 7.50 SP04, the default behavior of 0 * N MIXED = 0 MIXED
has been introduced in formula calculation. Prior to SP04, the result
was 0 * N MIXED = 0.
If the 'RSROA_CL_FORM_SWITCH' switch is set to 'ON', the old behavior is
re-enabled.
For further information, see SAP Note 2470572.
BW/4 HANA does not support this switch.

RS_B4HANA_RC125
- Some queries might behave differently in BW/4 HANA (formula calculation) ?The SAP error message RS_B4HANA_RC125 indicates that some queries in SAP BW/4HANA might behave differently due to the way formula calculations are handled in the new environment. This message is a warning rather than a critical error, and it typically arises when transitioning from older versions of SAP BW to BW/4HANA.
Cause:
The differences in behavior are primarily due to changes in the underlying data processing and calculation logic in BW/4HANA. Some of the key reasons include:
New Calculation Engine: BW/4HANA uses a new calculation engine that optimizes performance and leverages the in-memory capabilities of HANA. This can lead to different results for certain calculations, especially those involving complex formulas.
Changes in Formula Handling: The way formulas are defined and executed may differ in BW/4HANA compared to previous versions. This can affect how aggregations, exceptions, and conditions are processed.
Data Model Changes: The transition to BW/4HANA often involves changes in the data model, which can impact how queries are executed and how data is aggregated.
Solution:
To address the RS_B4HANA_RC125 warning, consider the following steps:
Review Queries: Analyze the affected queries to understand how they are constructed, particularly focusing on any formulas used. Check for any complex calculations that might yield different results.
Test Queries: Execute the queries in the BW/4HANA environment and compare the results with those from the previous version of BW. Identify any discrepancies and understand their causes.
Adjust Formulas: If discrepancies are found, you may need to adjust the formulas or the way calculations are performed. This might involve rewriting certain calculations to align with the new behavior in BW/4HANA.
Utilize BW/4HANA Features: Take advantage of new features and functionalities in BW/4HANA that can enhance performance and accuracy. This may include using new data modeling techniques or leveraging HANA-specific capabilities.
Documentation and Training: Ensure that your team is aware of the changes in BW/4HANA and provide training on how to effectively use the new features and handle potential issues with queries.
Related Information:
SAP Notes and Documentation: Check SAP Notes related to BW/4HANA for any specific guidance on handling formula calculations and query behavior. SAP provides documentation that outlines the differences between BW and BW/4HANA.
SAP Community: Engage with the SAP Community for insights and shared experiences from other users who have encountered similar issues during their transition to BW/4HANA.
Performance Optimization: Consider performance optimization techniques specific to BW/4HANA, as the new architecture can significantly improve query performance if utilized correctly.
By following these steps, you can mitigate the impact of the RS_B4HANA_RC125 warning and ensure that your queries function as expected in the BW/4HANA environment.
