Message text: Date shift is not possible; recipe date before current date not permitted
When you change the date of a change number, you also change the
valid-from date of all objects that were edited using this change
number. In this case, this is not possible for the following reason:
The change number was used in recipes. In recipes, you may not change
the valid-from date of a change status to a date before the current
date. However, you entered a valid-from date before the current date.
The system does not change the date.
The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.
Choose a valid-from date as of today's date.

- Date shift is not possible; recipe date before current date not permitted ?The SAP error message RMSRCP009, which states "Date shift is not possible; recipe date before current date not permitted," typically occurs in the context of recipe management within SAP, particularly when dealing with production or planning processes. This error indicates that there is an attempt to set a recipe date to a date that is earlier than the current date, which is not allowed by the system.
Cause:
- Date Configuration: The recipe date you are trying to set is earlier than the current system date. This can happen if you are trying to backdate a recipe or if there is a misunderstanding about the date that should be used.
- System Settings: The system may have specific settings that prevent the use of past dates for recipes, as this could lead to inconsistencies in production planning and execution.
- User Input Error: The user may have mistakenly entered an incorrect date.
Solution:
- Check the Date: Verify the date you are trying to set for the recipe. Ensure that it is not earlier than the current date. If you need to set a future date, adjust accordingly.
- Adjust Recipe Dates: If you need to change the recipe date, make sure to select a date that is today or in the future.
- Review System Settings: If you believe that backdating should be allowed for your business process, consult with your SAP administrator or functional consultant to review the system settings and determine if any adjustments can be made.
- User Training: Ensure that users are trained on the correct procedures for entering dates in the system to avoid similar errors in the future.
