  • Show details Hide details
  • What causes this issue?

In Customizing for versioning, you specified that the validity periods
of versions of an object must not overlap. You have now created a
version with a validity period that would overlap with the validity
period of another version. To prevent this overlap from occurring, the
system has adjusted the validity period of the created/existing version
in line with the following rules:
The valid-from date of a version is not changed.
The valid-to date of a version is only brought forward. It is not
    extended.
    <ZH>Example:</>
Version 1 of an object is valid from 01/01/2002 to 01/31/2002. You
create version 2 of the object, which is valid from 01/15/2002 to
04/30/2002. The system then automatically reduces the validity of
version 1 to the period 01/01/2002 to 01/14/2002.

    System Response

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.
