    in Customizing for <ZK>Recipe Management</> in the
    IMG activity <DS:SIMG.RMS_QM_10>Specify Environment Parameters</>. In
    this case, master inspection characteristics of the type
    "reference characteristic" are not permitted in the quality inspection.
    You cannot normally use the reference characteristics on the screen
    because they are hidden by default. However, it is possible to change
    this standard setting. If you want to check whether a master inspection
    characteristic is marked as a reference characteristic, call the
    input help (F4) in the <ZK>Master Insp.Charac</> column on the <ZK>QM</>
    tab page in Recipe Management. Under
    <ZK>Copy Model/Reference</>, choose "All Characteristics". The
    reference characteristic is marked
    with an "X" in the last column of the hit list.
    <ZH>Note:</> We recommend that you do not change this setting.
    In Quality Management, master inspection characteristics are created as
    <ZK>reference characteristics</>, <ZK>incomplete copy models</>, or
    <ZK>complete copy models</>. You can look at the characteristic type of
    the master inspection characteristic in the
    <ZK>Display Master Insp. Characteristic Version</> function (QS24) under
    <ZK>General Information</>.
