  • What causes this issue?

The level fields were not filled and therefore the level was added when
the hierarchy was updated. The algorithm has exceeded the maximum number
    of levels.

    System Response

    Hierarchy processing is terminated.

    How to fix this error?

Usually the hierarchy contains less than &V1& level(s). In other words,
an infinite loop is created when the level is assigned due to an
inconsistency in the hierarchy. Check the hierarchy and remove any
inconsistent nodes. If you cannot find any inconsistencies, load the
subtrees of the hierarchy to check whether they are consistent. This
allows you to analyze the inconsistencies more closely.

    Procedure for System Administrators

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message RH613 - Maximum level number &1 reached while filling the level ?

The SAP error message RH613, which states "Maximum level number &1 reached while filling the level," typically occurs in the context of HR (Human Resources) or Organizational Management (OM) modules. This error indicates that the system has reached the maximum number of levels allowed in a particular hierarchy or organizational structure.

    Cause:

    1. Hierarchy Limitations: SAP has predefined limits on the number of levels that can be created in certain hierarchies (e.g., organizational units, positions, etc.). When you try to add more levels than allowed, this error is triggered.
    2. Configuration Issues: The configuration settings for the organizational structure may not be set up correctly, leading to an attempt to exceed the maximum levels.
    3. Data Entry Errors: Incorrect data entry or attempts to create a structure that is not compliant with the defined limits can also lead to this error.

    Solution:

    1. Review Hierarchy Structure: Check the current hierarchy structure to ensure that it does not exceed the maximum allowed levels. You may need to simplify the structure or reorganize it to fit within the limits.
    2. Adjust Configuration: If applicable, review the configuration settings in the SAP system to see if the maximum levels can be adjusted. This may require consulting with an SAP Basis or HR consultant.
    3. Data Cleanup: Ensure that there are no redundant or unnecessary levels in the hierarchy. Clean up any outdated or incorrect entries that may be contributing to the issue.
    4. Consult Documentation: Refer to SAP documentation or help resources for specific limits related to your version of SAP and the modules you are using.
    5. Contact SAP Support: If the issue persists and you cannot find a resolution, consider reaching out to SAP support for assistance.

    Related Information:

    • SAP Notes: Check for any relevant SAP Notes that may address this specific error or provide guidance on hierarchy limits.
    • Transaction Codes: Familiarize yourself with relevant transaction codes (e.g., PPOME for organizational management) that can help you analyze and modify the organizational structure.
    • User Roles and Authorizations: Ensure that you have the necessary permissions to make changes to the organizational structure, as lack of authorization can also lead to issues when trying to modify levels.
