Message text: In lead time scheduling, shift is not contained in period split
You want to convert individual days to shifts. Due to technical
reasons, this is not possible for lead time scheduling (detailed or
rate-based planning).
In lead time scheduling, the system cannot convert individual days to
shifts. It can only convert the complete period of examination.
If you want to see shifts you can convert the complete period of
examination by choosong View --> Period --> Shift. (As was also
possible in release 4.5.)
In Sequencing, you can expand individual days into shifts.

REMPT261
- In lead time scheduling, shift is not contained in period split ?The SAP error message REMPT261 indicates that there is an issue with lead time scheduling in the context of production planning or project management. Specifically, the error states that a shift is not contained in the period split, which typically means that the scheduling parameters or the defined shifts do not align with the time periods set in the planning.
Cause:
- Shift Configuration: The shift defined in the scheduling does not match the time periods that have been set up in the system. This can happen if the shift times are outside the defined working hours or if there are discrepancies in the shift definitions.
- Period Split Issues: The period split configuration may not accommodate the shifts defined for the production or planning process. This can occur if the periods are not aligned with the shifts or if there are gaps in the scheduling.
- Master Data Issues: There may be inconsistencies in the master data related to work centers, production resources, or other relevant entities that define how shifts and periods are structured.
Solution:
- Check Shift Definitions: Review the shift definitions in the system to ensure they are correctly configured. Make sure that the shifts are defined within the working hours and that they align with the periods set in the planning.
- Adjust Period Split: Modify the period split settings to ensure that they accommodate the defined shifts. This may involve adjusting the start and end times of the periods or redefining the periods themselves.
- Review Master Data: Check the master data for work centers, production resources, and any other relevant entities to ensure that they are correctly set up and that there are no discrepancies that could lead to this error.
- Consult Documentation: Refer to SAP documentation or help resources for specific guidance on configuring shifts and period splits in your version of SAP.
- Testing: After making adjustments, perform a test run to ensure that the scheduling now works without triggering the error.
