  • System Response

The BW default namespaces are to control the names of BW meta objects
and the corresponding Data Dictionary objects that are generated (DDIC
objects). The convention is as follows:
    SAP content namespace
    Meta objects begin with '0'
Generated objects in the DDIC begin with '/BI0/'
    System type SAP
Example: InfoObject 0CUSTOMER, master data table /BI0/PCUSTOMER
    Customer namespace
Meta objects begin with AB...YZ (indicated by empty entry)
Generated objects in the DDIC begin with '/BIC/'
    System type CUS (customer)
Example: InfoCube SALES, fact table /BIC/FSALES
Special SAP namespaces for generated objects ('1' to '9')
    The prefixes '1', '2', '3', '4', '6', '7', '8' are needed in BW WHM
(warehouse management) for DataSources and InfoSources for certain SAP
    applications.
The prefix '9A' is needed for the application SAP_APO.

    How to fix this error?

<ZH>Users are not to make changes in the BW default namespaces. Under no
circumstances are namespaces other than /BI0/ or /BIC/ to be entered.</>
The only setting you can make is setting the active flag for the
namespaces customer namespace (empty entry) and '9A' (SAP-APO). This
tells the system whether it contains the BW application, the APO
application, or both. No difference can be derived from the names of
objects to be created in the customer namespace ('ABC...XYZ').
You need to be able to tell the difference as a special program logic is
used for the SAP_APO application for some meta objects such as
    InfoCubes.
If both flags are checked, a query asks you which application the object
is assigned to when you create it in object maintenance. If only one of
the fields is checked, you are not asked (automatic assignment to
    checked application).

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

    Cause:

    1. Namespace Conflict: The error often arises when there are conflicting namespaces for objects in the BW system. This can happen if custom objects are created without adhering to the naming conventions or if there are overlaps with standard SAP namespaces.
    2. Incorrect Configuration: If the BW system is not properly configured to recognize the default namespaces, it can lead to this error.

    2. Review Object Names: Go through the custom objects in your BW system and ensure that they follow the naming conventions. Custom objects should typically start with a specific prefix (e.g., Z or Y) to avoid conflicts with standard SAP objects.
    3. Adjust Transport Requests: If the issue arose after transporting objects, review the transport requests to ensure that they were correctly configured and that no conflicting objects were included.
    4. Consult SAP Notes: Check the SAP Support Portal for any relevant SAP Notes that may address this specific error. SAP frequently releases notes that provide fixes or workarounds for known issues.
    5. System Refresh: In some cases, performing a system refresh or re-importing the objects may resolve the issue, especially if it is related to a temporary inconsistency.
