- Defective quantity greater than inspected quantity. Correct your entry. ?The SAP error message QV028 ("Defective quantity greater than inspected quantity. Correct your entry.") typically occurs during the quality inspection process when the quantity of defective items reported exceeds the total quantity that was actually inspected. This can happen in various scenarios, such as during the recording of inspection results or when entering data in the quality management module.
Cause:
- Data Entry Error: The most common cause is a simple data entry mistake where the user mistakenly inputs a defective quantity that exceeds the inspected quantity.
- Inspection Lot Issues: There may be issues with the inspection lot itself, such as incorrect lot sizes or misconfigured inspection parameters.
- System Configuration: Incorrect configuration in the quality management settings or inspection plan can lead to discrepancies in the quantities.
- Process Flow Issues: If the process flow is not followed correctly, such as not completing the inspection before entering results, it can lead to this error.
Solution:
- Verify Input Data: Check the quantities entered for both inspected and defective items. Ensure that the defective quantity does not exceed the inspected quantity.
- Review Inspection Lot: Go to the inspection lot in question and verify the total quantity inspected. Make sure that the inspection lot was created correctly and that the quantities are accurate.
- Correct the Entry: If you find that the defective quantity was entered incorrectly, correct it to a value that is less than or equal to the inspected quantity.
