This error typically arises when the system cannot uniquely identify a WBS element that is assigned to a specific person, which can hinder processes such as project planning, budgeting, or resource allocation.

    Cause:

    1. Multiple Assignments: The most common cause of this error is that the WBS element is assigned to multiple persons or resources, leading to ambiguity in the assignment.
    2. Missing or Incorrect Data: There may be missing or incorrect data in the master records for the WBS element or the person/resource.

      • Navigate to the relevant transaction (e.g., CJ20N for project management) and check the assignments.
    2. Correct Data: If there are multiple assignments, determine which assignment is correct and remove or correct the others.

      • You may need to consult with project managers or team leads to confirm the correct assignments.
    3. Review Master Data: Ensure that the master data for both the WBS element and the person/resource is complete and accurate.

      • Check for any missing fields or incorrect entries that could lead to confusion.
    4. Configuration Check: If the issue persists, review the configuration settings related to project management and WBS elements. Ensure that the settings allow for unique assignments.

      • This may require assistance from an SAP consultant or someone with configuration expertise.
