  • Show details Hide details
  • What causes this issue?

You cannot activate the inspection type since inspection stock exists
for the material. To avoid this problem, you should create one or more
inspection lots for inspection type &v1& before activating the
inspection type. The remaining inspection stock is then distributed
between the inspection lots. The inspection type that should be used is
    defined in <DS:SIMG.SIMG_CFMENUOLQSOQS1>Customizing</>.

    How can this happen?

Material A has to be managed in batches. There are 10 litres in
inspection stock for batch 1, and 20 litres for batch 2. In this case,
the two inspection lots 4711 and 4712 are created:

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

Inspection lot 4711 is created for material A and batch 1; the
inspection lot quantity is 10 litres.
Inspection lot 4712 is created for material A and batch 2; the
inspection lot quantity is 20 litres.

  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message QA299 - Inspection type is activated and insp. lots are created for insp. type & ?

The SAP error message QA299 indicates that an inspection type is activated, and inspection lots have already been created for that inspection type. This typically occurs when you attempt to make changes to an inspection type that is currently in use, which can lead to inconsistencies in the quality management process.

    Cause:

    1. Inspection Type Activation: The inspection type you are trying to modify is currently active in the system.
