  • What causes this issue?

You have changed the printer driver that is used to print ABAP lists
with the selected format type. The system has established that another,
different printer driver for ABAP lists is set as the global setting

All format types for printing ABAP lists should normally use the same
printer language (that is, the same printer driver).
    Printer language,,SAPscript driver,,List driver

Do not select a printer driver (empty entry, in this case the system
prints using the printer commands defined in the format type for the

  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message PO427 - A different driver (&) is used in the header entry for the device type ?

The SAP error message PO427 indicates that there is a mismatch in the driver being used for a specific device type in the header entry of a print request. This typically occurs when the print settings for a particular output device (like a printer) are not consistent with the driver settings defined in the system.

    Cause:

    1. Driver Mismatch: The error usually arises when the print request is configured to use a different driver than what is specified in the device type settings.
    2. Configuration Issues: There may be inconsistencies in the configuration of the output device in SAP, such as incorrect settings in the device type or the print queue.
    3. Changes in Device Type: If the device type has been changed or updated, and the print request still references the old driver, this can lead to the error.
    4. User Settings: Individual user settings or defaults may be overriding the system settings, leading to a mismatch.

    Solution:

    1. Check Device Type Configuration:

      • Go to transaction code SPAD (Spool Administration).
      • Locate the output device that is causing the error.
      • Verify the device type and ensure that it matches the driver being used in the print request.
    2. Update Print Request:

      • If the print request is using a specific driver, ensure that it is set to use the correct device type that matches the output device configuration.
    3. Review User Settings:

      • Check if the user has any specific settings that might be overriding the default device type settings.
      • Ensure that the user profile settings are consistent with the system-wide settings.
    4. Test Printing:

      • After making the necessary changes, perform a test print to ensure that the issue is resolved.
    5. Consult Documentation:

      • If the issue persists, refer to SAP documentation or consult with your SAP Basis team for further troubleshooting.
