Message text: You must adjust the device configuration tables
In Release 4.0A there was a switch to new configuration tables for
device configurations. The device description is held in separate
tables and transferred into the previous tables for activation.
Before the first maintenance of output devices, the new tables must be
generated from the old tables. This generation takes place during the
first call of the maintenance Transaction SPAD.
After this initial generation the previous tables can no longer be
maintained separately (TSP03, TSP03C, ...). Instead the table TSP03D is
used for maintenance and the table TSP03A for additional (variable)
attributes.
The new table contents are generated after confirmation of this
message.
No special action by the administrator is required.

PO269
- You must adjust the device configuration tables ?The SAP error message PO269, which states "You must adjust the device configuration tables," typically occurs in the context of device management, particularly when dealing with output devices such as printers. This error indicates that there is a mismatch or inconsistency in the configuration of the output device settings in the SAP system.
Cause:
- Device Configuration Issues: The output device may not be properly configured in the SAP system. This can happen if the device is newly added or if there have been changes to the device settings that have not been reflected in the configuration tables.
- Missing or Incorrect Entries: The device configuration tables may be missing necessary entries or may contain incorrect information that prevents the system from processing output requests.
- Transport Issues: If the configuration was transported from one system to another (e.g., from development to production), there may have been issues during the transport process that led to incomplete or incorrect configuration.
Solution:
Check Device Configuration:
- Go to transaction code SPAD (Spool Administration).
- Verify the configuration of the output device in question. Ensure that all necessary parameters (such as device type, host spool access method, and output format) are correctly set.
- If the device is new, ensure that it has been properly defined and activated.
Adjust Configuration Tables:
- If you identify any discrepancies in the device settings, make the necessary adjustments in the configuration.
- You may need to update the device configuration tables manually if they are not reflecting the correct settings.
Recreate the Device:
- If the device configuration seems too problematic, consider deleting the existing device configuration and recreating it from scratch.
Check for Transport Issues:
- If the issue arose after a transport, check the transport logs for any errors or warnings related to the device configuration.
- Ensure that all necessary configuration objects were included in the transport request.
Consult Documentation:
- Refer to SAP documentation or notes related to device configuration and troubleshooting for additional guidance.
