The SAP error message PK380, which states "For technical reasons, only the status of a container can be changed," typically occurs in the context of handling containers in SAP's logistics or warehouse management modules. This error indicates that the system is preventing changes to certain attributes of a container due to technical constraints.

    Cause:

    1. Container Status Restrictions: The error usually arises when there is an attempt to change attributes of a container that are not allowed while the container is in a specific status. For example, if a container is in a status that restricts modifications (like "In Use" or "Locked"), the system will not allow changes to its properties.

    Solution:

    1. Check Container Status: Review the current status of the container in question. If it is in a restricted status, you may need to change it to a status that allows modifications. This might involve completing or canceling any ongoing processes associated with the container.

    2. Review Configuration: Consult with your SAP configuration team to ensure that the settings related to container management are correctly configured. There may be specific settings that need to be adjusted to allow for the desired changes.

    3. Use Transaction Codes: Utilize relevant transaction codes (like LT03 for creating transfer orders or LT12 for confirming transfer orders) to manage the container properly. Ensure that you are following the correct process for the operations you are trying to perform.

    4. Consult Documentation: Refer to SAP documentation or help resources for specific guidance on managing container statuses and the implications of each status.

    5. Error Logs: Check the system logs for any additional error messages or warnings that might provide more context about why the operation is being blocked.

    6. Contact SAP Support: If the issue persists and you cannot identify the cause, consider reaching out to SAP support for assistance. They can provide insights based on the specific configuration and version of your SAP system.
