  • What causes this issue?

You work with the one-card kanban system. In the control cycle, a value
    has been entered in the
<DS:DE.PKLOG>Trigger Replenishment</> field and you have entered a
status sequence. This status sequence does not define that the status
<LS>WAIT</> is a mandatory or a "should" status.
However, in the one-card kanban, you must set the kanban container to
the status <LS>WAIT</> before it is set to <LS>EMPTY</>.

    System Response

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

    How to fix this error?

Change your status sequence to ensure that the status <LS>WAIT</> is set
or change the master data of the control cycle so that you no longer
work with the one-card kanban system.

  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message PK343 - Status sequence does not apply to the one-card kanban ?

The SAP error message PK343, which states "Status sequence does not apply to the one-card kanban," typically occurs in the context of Kanban processing within SAP's Production Planning (PP) module. This error indicates that there is a mismatch between the status sequence defined for the Kanban and the one-card Kanban setup.

    Cause:

    1. Configuration Issues: The status sequence defined in the system does not match the requirements for a one-card Kanban. This can happen if the status sequence is not properly configured for the specific Kanban control cycle.
    2. Incorrect Kanban Control Cycle: The Kanban control cycle may not be set up correctly, leading to the system not recognizing the status sequence for one-card Kanban.
    3. Master Data Issues: The material master or the Kanban master data may not be correctly configured, leading to inconsistencies in the status sequence.

    Solution:

    1. Check Status Sequence Configuration:

      • Go to the configuration settings for Kanban (Transaction code: SPRO).
      • Navigate to Production > Kaban > Control Cycle > Define Status Sequences.
      • Ensure that the status sequence assigned to the Kanban control cycle is appropriate for one-card Kanban.
    2. Review Kanban Control Cycle:

      • Check the Kanban control cycle settings (Transaction code: PKMC).
      • Ensure that the control cycle is correctly defined and that it is set up for one-card Kanban processing.
    3. Verify Master Data:

      • Check the material master data (Transaction code: MM03) for the relevant material to ensure that the Kanban settings are correctly configured.
      • Review the Kanban master data (Transaction code: PK01) to ensure that it aligns with the control cycle and status sequence.
    4. Adjust Settings:

      • If necessary, adjust the status sequence or the Kanban control cycle settings to ensure compatibility with one-card Kanban processing.
    5. Testing:

      • After making the necessary adjustments, perform a test to ensure that the error no longer occurs and that the Kanban process functions as expected.

    Related Information:

    • One-Card Kanban: This is a simplified Kanban system where a single card is used to signal the need for replenishment. It is often used in environments where inventory levels are closely monitored.
    • Status Sequences: These are defined sequences that dictate the various statuses a Kanban can go through (e.g., empty, full, in process). Each status can trigger different actions in the system.
    • SAP Documentation: For more detailed information, refer to SAP Help documentation or the SAP Community for discussions related to Kanban and error messages.

If the issue persists after following these steps, it may be beneficial to consult with an SAP expert or your organization's SAP support team for further assistance.
