  • Show details Hide details
  • What causes this issue?

You have specified in Customizing for the replenishment strategies for
in-house production that no new planned order is to be created when a
kanban container is set to "Empty". Instead, a planned order generated
via the MRP run is to be used.
However, this is possible only if the kanban quantity and the fixed lot
size in the material master record are the same.
Either you have not specified a fixed lot size in the material master
record (MRP 1 view) or the lot size differs from the kanban quantity.
In this case, the planned orders of MRP cannot be used for Kanban.

    System Response

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

    How to fix this error?

Use the same lot size for the kanban quantity and for the material.
Change the kanban quantity in the control cycle or adjust the fixed lot
size in the material master record to the kanban quantity.
Also check whether the use of planned orders from the MRP run makes
    sense for empty kanban containers.

The SAP error message PK141 indicates that there is an issue with the lot size configuration in the material master record for a specific material when working with Kanban. This error typically arises in the context of Kanban processing, where the system expects a fixed lot size that matches the Kanban quantity defined for the material.

    Cause:

    1. No Fixed Lot Size Defined: The material master record does not have a fixed lot size defined in the relevant views (usually the MRP or Purchasing views).

    Solution:

    1. Check Material Master Record:

    2. Verify Kanban Configuration:

      • Check the Kanban control cycle settings (transaction code PK01 or PK02).
      • Ensure that the Kanban quantity is correctly defined and matches the fixed lot size in the material master.
