  • What causes this issue?

The dynamic date determination has move the execution date backwards
according to the logic in the date determination BADI. The final date
was determined to be before the start date of the data selection range.
This is not allowed because it makes no sense to post documents on a
certain date with the data in these documents being from a later date.

    System Response

The process was terminated for that location.

    How to fix this error?

Check your dates and the setting of the switches on the entry screen
and try again. If this does not give you the wanted results ask your
system administrator to check the date determination BADI.

    Procedure for System Administrators

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message OQ_I310 - Execution date &2 at location &1 is less than the data selection start &3 ?

The SAP error message OQ_I310 indicates that there is a discrepancy between the execution date and the data selection start date in the context of a specific location. This error typically arises in the context of inventory management, production planning, or similar modules where date constraints are critical for operations.

    Cause:

The error occurs when the execution date (the date on which an operation is scheduled to occur) is earlier than the data selection start date (the earliest date from which data can be selected for processing). This can happen due to:

    1. Incorrect Date Configuration: The execution date might have been set incorrectly in the system or during the transaction.
    2. Data Selection Settings: The data selection start date may have been configured to a future date, preventing any operations from being executed before that date.
    3. Master Data Issues: The location or material master data may have incorrect date settings or restrictions.

    Solution:

To resolve this error, you can take the following steps:

    1. Check Execution Date: Verify the execution date you are trying to use. Ensure that it is not set to a date earlier than the data selection start date.

    2. Review Data Selection Start Date: Check the configuration for the data selection start date. This can usually be found in the relevant configuration settings for the module you are working with (e.g., inventory management, production planning).

    3. Adjust Dates: If the execution date is indeed earlier than the data selection start date, adjust the execution date to a valid date that is equal to or later than the data selection start date.

    4. Consult Master Data: Review the master data for the location and ensure that there are no restrictions or settings that would cause this issue.

    5. System Configuration: If necessary, consult with your SAP Basis or configuration team to ensure that the system settings are correct and that there are no underlying issues causing this error.

    6. Testing: After making the necessary adjustments, test the transaction again to ensure that the error has been resolved.

    Related Information:

    • Transaction Codes: Depending on the context, you may be using transaction codes like MB1A, MB1B, or others related to inventory or production.
    • SAP Notes: Check SAP Notes for any known issues or patches related to this error message.
    • Documentation: Refer to SAP documentation for the specific module you are working with to understand the implications of date settings and how they affect transactions.

If the issue persists after following these steps, it may be beneficial to engage with SAP support or your internal SAP team for further investigation.
