Activate SAP conversion routines for natural gas
The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.
In order to use the SAP conversion routines for natural gas, you have toThe system continues processing.
To be able to confirm the correctness of the SAP routines, you have to:
1. Check the constants defined in include LOIB_QCITOC.
2. Check the natural gas routines
Approve the following form routines that are located in function
group OIB_QCI:
a) CALCULATE_GAS_BASE_DENSITY (based on ISO 13443, first
edition 1996-12-15)
b) CALCULATE_GAS_BASE_HEATING_VAL (based on ISO 13443, first
edition 1996-12-15)
c) CALCULATE_IDEAL_GAS_VCF (based on ISO 13443, first edition
1996-12-15)
d) CALC_COMBUSTION_CORRECTION (based on ISO 13443, first
edition 1996-12-15)
e) DENSITY_HVALUE_CONVERSION (based on ISO 6976, 1995-12-01,
corrected and reprinted 1996-02-01)
,,Method DETERMINE_AIR_COMP_FAC has to be implemented if base conditions
are used in a conversion ,,group other than the set of conditions
specified in ISO 6976, 1995-12-01, Annex B. This method has to pass the
,,compression factor of air at the new base condition set back to the
form DENSITY_HVALUE_CONVERSION.
3. Check the handling of the results from the AGA C-code routines
(if activated) in form routines ,,DO_EXTERNAL_CALL and
DO_EXTERNAL_CALL_2.
If you decide not to activate the SAP conversion routines, proceed as
follows:
1. Define your own new constants.
2. Implement the following methods if natural gas quantity conversion
has to be performed by the QCI. Each of these 5 routines replace
one of the above-mentioned form routines. The methods are part of the
business add-in OIB_NATURAL_GAS:
a) CALC_BASE_DENSITY
b) CALC_BASE_HEATINGVALUE
c) CALC_IDEAL_GAS_VCF
d) CORR_COMBUSTION_ENERGY
e) DENSITY_HVALUE_CONVERT
The methods can also be used to modify the results from the SAP
conversion routines.
3. Implement method DETERMINE_Z_FACTOR.
If the SAP conversion routines are activated, the SAP system retrieves
the compression factors at ambient and at the base conditions from the
AGA C-code. It calculates a combined volume correction factor by
multiplying the ideal gas volume correction factor with the compression
factor at base conditions and dividing this result by the compression
factor at ambient conditions (material temperature and pressure).
If the SAP conversion routines are not activated, method
DETERMINE_Z_FACTOR is called instead. It imports the results from the
AGA C-code and changes a combined volume correction factor according to
the customer-specific coding.

- Navigate to the Implementation Guide (IMG) by using the transaction code
SPRO
.- In the IMG, look for the section related to natural gas management. This may be under a specific module like SAP IS-Oil or similar.
Read the Documentation:
- Carefully read through the documentation provided for the natural gas routines. This documentation will typically outline:
- Prerequisites for activation.
- Configuration steps that need to be completed beforehand.
- Any dependencies or related settings that must be addressed.
Complete Required Configuration:
- Based on the documentation, ensure that all necessary configurations are completed before attempting to activate the routines again.
Activate the Routines:
- Once you have reviewed the documentation and completed any required configurations, you can attempt to activate the natural gas routines again.
Testing:
- After activation, conduct thorough testing to ensure that the routines are functioning as expected and that there are no further issues.
