Message text: Target unit of measure parameters not specified
The Quantity Conversion Interface (QCI) requires temperature and
pressure specifications for all target units of measure. For liquid
products, the temperature specification is usually sufficient; for
natural gas both pressure and temperature value is required. If the
target unit of measure has no values specified in Customizing, the
material temperature and pressure are used. If these values are also not
specified, the conversion cannot be performed.
The conversion process will not continue.
The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

O3315
- Target unit of measure parameters not specified ?The SAP error message O3315, "Target unit of measure parameters not specified," typically occurs in the context of material management or inventory management when there is an issue with the unit of measure (UoM) settings for a material or during a transaction that involves unit conversions.
Cause:
- Missing UoM Configuration: The target unit of measure for a material may not be defined in the material master data.
- Incorrect UoM Settings: The conversion factors between different units of measure may not be set up correctly.
- Transaction Context: The error can occur during specific transactions, such as goods movements, where the system expects a target unit of measure to be specified but it is not.
Solution:
Check Material Master Data:
- Go to the material master record (transaction code
MM03
).- Check the "Basic Data" and "Purchasing" views to ensure that the target unit of measure is defined.
- Ensure that the "Alternative Units of Measure" section is filled out correctly, including the conversion factors.
Define Units of Measure:
- If the target unit of measure is not defined, you can add it by using transaction code
OMU1
to create or modify units of measure.- Ensure that the target unit of measure is linked to the appropriate base unit of measure.
Check UoM Conversion:
- Verify that the conversion factors between the base unit of measure and the target unit of measure are correctly set up in the material master.
- Use transaction code
OMU2
to maintain conversion factors if necessary.Review Transaction Settings:
- If the error occurs during a specific transaction, review the settings and parameters for that transaction to ensure that all required fields are filled out correctly.
Consult Documentation:
- Refer to SAP documentation or help resources for additional guidance on unit of measure settings and configurations.
