  • What causes this issue?

The statistical records with which the system keeps track of the
supplier business volumes for a condition record are kept in the
condition record unit. Because the scale basis may have its own
(different) unit, conversion may be necessary.
Such a conversion is necessary for the statistical record currently to
be processed. The relevant units are &V1& and &V2&.
Note any error message (describing the exact cause of the error) that
may be issued. One of the two units &V1& and &V2& may be missing.

    System Response

The requested function cannot be performed for the relevant data record
because conversion is not possible. Either the function you requested
has not been performed or the data is incomplete.

    How to fix this error?

Please note that the system applies the following approach when
converting one unit into another. Conversion should be possible in the
    following manner:

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

Via the purchase order unit in the purchasing info record for the
material (settlement material &V3&) and supplier/condition granter
Via the units &V1&, &V2& as base/alternative units of material
(settlement material) &V3&, as well as the units of volume and gross/net
weight from the material master record in some cases
As a fixed conversion between the units &V1&, &V2& (units of the same
    dimension)
The system checks whether conversion is possible in the order shown
above. Therefore, please first check whether a conversion factor/ratio
has been maintained in the system.
Also check the statistical data using the function "Statement of
statistical data" or "Detailed statement". Check the units of the
condition records belonging to the rebate arrangement (note scales and
periods). Check the supplier business volumes for correctness. If
    necessary, contact the person responsible.
If the error involves an incorrect or missing unit of the statistical
record, the data record must be corrected. The rebate arrangement data
must also be corrected. Please refer to the documentation on the
compilation of statistical data relating to a volume rebate arrangement.
The statistical record affected belongs to the condition record with the
    (internal) number &V4&.
If the problem does not involve any of the above factors, it may be
attributable to one of the following reasons (which would indicate a
    program bug):
The supplier business volume updating is erroneous, that is, the
business volume data is not updated in the required form (quantity,
    points, weight, physical volumes).
One of the required units is missing from the statistical record.

  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message MN244 - Conversion of units & and & not possible ?

The SAP error message MN244, which states "Conversion of units & and & not possible," typically occurs when there is an issue with unit conversion in the system. This can happen in various contexts, such as during the processing of materials, inventory management, or when performing calculations that involve different units of measure.

    Causes:

    1. Incompatible Units: The units of measure being used are not compatible for conversion. For example, trying to convert between units that do not have a defined conversion factor in the system.
    2. Missing Conversion Factors: The conversion factors between the two units of measure may not be defined in the system.
    3. Incorrect Unit Configuration: The units of measure may not be properly configured in the material master or in the relevant settings.
    4. Data Entry Errors: There may be a mistake in the data entry where the wrong units are being used.

    Solutions:

    1. Check Unit of Measure Configuration:

      • Go to the transaction code CUNI (Unit of Measure Conversion) to check if the conversion factors between the units are defined.
      • Ensure that the units of measure are correctly configured in the material master (transaction code MM02 for changing material data).
    2. Define Conversion Factors:

      • If the conversion factors are missing, you can define them in the same transaction (CUNI). Make sure to specify the correct source and target units of measure.
    3. Review Material Master Data:

      • Check the material master data for the specific material involved in the error. Ensure that the base unit of measure and alternative units of measure are correctly set up.
    4. Validate Data Entry:

      • Review the transaction or document where the error occurred to ensure that the correct units of measure are being used.
    5. Consult Documentation:

      • Refer to SAP documentation or help resources for specific guidance on unit conversions and configurations.

    Related Information:

    • Transaction Codes:
      • CUNI: Unit of Measure Conversion
      • MM02: Change Material Master
      • MM03: Display Material Master
    • SAP Notes: Check SAP Notes for any known issues or patches related to unit conversion errors.
    • User Exits and BAdIs: If custom logic is involved, check for any user exits or BAdIs that might affect unit conversions.
