MN036
- Calculation rule & incompatible with that of main condition & ?The SAP error message MN036 typically indicates that there is a mismatch between the calculation rule of a condition and the main condition in a pricing procedure. This error often arises in the context of sales and distribution (SD) or materials management (MM) when dealing with pricing conditions.
Cause:
- Incompatible Calculation Rules: The calculation rule defined for a condition (e.g., discount, surcharge) is not compatible with the calculation rule of the main condition. For example, if the main condition is set to be a percentage-based calculation, but the subordinate condition is set to be a fixed amount, this can lead to the error.
- Incorrect Configuration: The pricing procedure may not be configured correctly, leading to incompatible conditions being used together.
- Condition Records: There may be condition records that are not set up properly, leading to conflicts in the calculation rules.
Solution:
Check Calculation Rules: Review the calculation rules for both the main condition and the subordinate condition. Ensure that they are compatible. You can do this by navigating to the pricing procedure configuration in SPRO:
- Path:
SPRO > Sales and Distribution > Basic Functions > Pricing > Pricing Control > Define Pricing Procedures
- Check the calculation types and ensure they align.
Adjust Pricing Procedure: If necessary, modify the pricing procedure to ensure that the calculation rules are compatible. This may involve changing the sequence of conditions or adjusting the calculation types.
Review Condition Records: Check the condition records for the relevant conditions to ensure they are set up correctly. You can do this using transaction codes like
VK11
(Create Condition) orVK12
(Change Condition).Testing: After making changes, perform a test transaction to ensure that the error no longer occurs. Monitor the pricing output to confirm that it is calculated correctly.
Consult Documentation: If you are unsure about the configuration, refer to SAP documentation or consult with a functional consultant who specializes in pricing procedures.
