MK026
- No main GTIN selected for material &1 and unit of measure &2 ?The SAP error message MK026 "No main GTIN selected for material &1 and unit of measure &2" typically occurs when the system is unable to find a Global Trade Item Number (GTIN) associated with a specific material and its unit of measure. This can happen in various scenarios, such as during the creation of purchase orders, sales orders, or when performing inventory management tasks.
Cause:
- Missing GTIN Assignment: The material in question does not have a GTIN assigned to it in the system.
- Incorrect Unit of Measure: The GTIN may be assigned to a different unit of measure than the one being used in the transaction.
- Data Inconsistency: There may be inconsistencies in the material master data or the GTIN data.
- Configuration Issues: The system may not be properly configured to handle GTINs for the specific material type or industry.
Solution:
Check Material Master Data:
- Go to the material master record (transaction code MM03) for the material in question.
- Check the "Basic Data" and "Sales" views to ensure that a GTIN is assigned.
- If no GTIN is assigned, you can add it in the relevant view.
Verify Unit of Measure:
- Ensure that the GTIN is assigned to the correct unit of measure. If you are using a different unit of measure in your transaction, you may need to add the GTIN for that specific unit.
Maintain GTIN Data:
- If the GTIN is missing, you can maintain it using transaction code MM02 (Change Material) and navigate to the relevant view to add the GTIN.
Check Configuration:
- If you suspect a configuration issue, consult with your SAP Basis or configuration team to ensure that the system is set up correctly to handle GTINs.
Data Consistency Check:
- Run any relevant reports or transactions to check for data consistency in the material master and GTIN assignments.
Related Information:
If the issue persists after following these steps, it may be beneficial to consult SAP support or your internal SAP team for further assistance.
