    What causes this issue?

You tried to create a process batch with reference to an input batch in
the <ZK>Goods issues</> area (screen 8490 Mill: GI screen).
However, the material of the component of the production order does
<ZH>not </> require batch management. Therefore an input batch that was
previously defined as the preceding batch for the process batch cannot
exist for the goods issue line.

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

    System Response

The system does <ZH>not</> assign this goods issue item to the process
    batch as the preceding batch.

    How to fix this error?

    Select another goods issue line.

  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message MILL_PC207 - Component &1 is not subject to batch management in plant &2 ?

The SAP error message MILL_PC207 indicates that a specific component (material) is not subject to batch management in the specified plant. This error typically arises in scenarios where batch management is expected but the material in question is not configured to use batch management.

    Cause:

    1. Material Configuration: The material (component) is not set up for batch management in the material master data. This can happen if the material is defined as a non-batch-managed material.
    2. Plant-Specific Settings: The plant settings for the material may not have batch management enabled, even if the material is batch-managed in other plants.
    3. Incorrect Process: The process being executed (e.g., production order, goods movement) may require batch-managed components, but the specified component does not meet this requirement.

    Solution:

    1. Check Material Master Data:

      • Go to the material master record (transaction code MM03).
      • Check the "Plant Data / Storage" view for the relevant plant.
      • Ensure that the "Batch Management" checkbox is selected.
    2. Update Material Settings:

      • If the material should be batch-managed, you can change the settings in the material master. Use transaction code MM02 to modify the material and enable batch management.
      • If the material should not be batch-managed, ensure that the process you are executing does not require batch-managed components.
    3. Review Production Order/Process:

      • If you are working with a production order or similar process, ensure that all components required for the process are correctly configured for batch management if needed.
    4. Consult with Configuration Team:

      • If you are unsure about the settings or the implications of changing batch management status, consult with your SAP configuration team or a functional consultant.

    Related Information:

    • Batch Management: This is a feature in SAP that allows for tracking and managing inventory in batches. It is commonly used in industries where product quality and traceability are critical.
    • Material Master Views: The material master has various views that can be configured differently for each plant. Ensure that you are checking the correct plant-specific view.
    • Transaction Codes:
      • MM03: Display Material Master
      • MM02: Change Material Master
      • MM01: Create Material Master
    • Documentation: Refer to SAP Help documentation for detailed information on batch management and material master configuration.
