What causes this issue?

You wanted to do one of the following:
Assign new EANs externally for the variants of the generic material and
unit of measure
Display any EANs for a unit of measure and a specified EAN category
However, either the unit of measure has not been maintained for the
variants, or, if a unit of measure exists, none of the existing EANs is
of the EAN category specified.

System Response

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

How to fix this error?

Check whether the variants of the generic material have the unit of
measure specified by you or have EANs with the specified EAN category.
This requires you to directly call up the dialog for maintaining
variants.
