  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message MDG_BS_ECC_CUST006 - DRF Cust. is set to non-harmonized keys for customers of client system &1 ?

The SAP error message MDG_BS_ECC_CUST006 indicates that the Data Replication Framework (DRF) is configured to use non-harmonized keys for customer data in the specified client system. This typically occurs in the context of SAP Master Data Governance (MDG) when there is a mismatch in the key configuration for customer master data between the MDG system and the connected ECC (or S/4HANA) system.

    Cause:

    1. Non-Harmonized Keys: The error arises when the customer master data is set up to use non-harmonized keys, meaning that the keys used in the MDG system do not match the keys expected in the target ECC system.
    2. Configuration Issues: There may be a configuration issue in the DRF settings, where the key mapping for customer data is not properly defined.
    3. Inconsistent Data Model: The data model in the MDG system may not align with the data model in the ECC system, leading to discrepancies in how customer data is identified and replicated.

    Solution:

    1. Check DRF Configuration:

      • Go to the DRF configuration in the MDG system and verify the settings for customer data replication.
      • Ensure that the key mapping is correctly defined and that the keys used in the MDG system are harmonized with those in the ECC system.
    2. Harmonize Keys:

      • If the keys are indeed non-harmonized, you may need to adjust the configuration to use harmonized keys. This may involve changing the key settings in the MDG system to match those in the ECC system.
    3. Review Data Model:

      • Check the data model in both the MDG and ECC systems to ensure they are consistent. If there are differences, you may need to adjust the data model in one of the systems to align with the other.
    4. Testing:

      • After making the necessary changes, perform tests to ensure that customer data can be replicated successfully without encountering the error.
    5. Consult Documentation:

      • Refer to SAP documentation for MDG and DRF for detailed guidance on configuring customer data replication and harmonizing keys.

    Related Information:

    • SAP Notes: Check for any relevant SAP Notes that may address this specific error or provide additional guidance on DRF configuration and key harmonization.
    • MDG Configuration Guide: Review the MDG configuration guide for best practices on setting up customer data replication.
    • Community Forums: Engage with SAP community forums or support channels for insights from other users who may have encountered similar issues.

By following these steps, you should be able to resolve the MDG_BS_ECC_CUST006 error and ensure successful replication of customer data between your MDG and ECC systems.
