How To Fix LAW_MESSAGES036 - Background job for consolidation started (ID=&1)

SAP Error Message - Details

  • Message type: E = Error

  • Message class: LAW_MESSAGES - License Administration Workbench

  • Message number: 036

  • Message text: Background job for consolidation started (ID=&1)

  • Show details Hide details
  • What causes this issue?

A background job for user consolidation was started.
So that the job can perform its task, it requires exclusive change
authorization for the LAW. The user that started the job (LAW
administrator) usually has this authorization. The LAW temporarily
removes change authorization from this user, so that the background job
    can perform its task.

    System Response

If the background job was able to run immediately, the LAW administrator
    receives the lock message:
<ZK>The requested object is currently locked by user <(>
    <<)>user></>
<ZK><user></> is usually the name of the <ZK> </>LAW administrator. By
pressing the ENTER key, you can repeatedly query the status of the
background job. After the background job has ended, the LAW
    administrator receives the message:
    <ZK>Background job RSLAW_BATCH_USER_CONSOLIDATION (ID=&2) ended.</>
Caution: this only works as long as the administrator has not exited the
    transaction.
At the same time, the status light for the consolidation changes from
red to green and the LAW administrator receives change authorization
    again.

    How to fix this error?

If the background job could not run immediately - the LAW administrator
does not receive a lock message - then the administrator must leave the
transaction to release the change lock. Only in this way can the
background job perform its function. You can follow the background job
by displaying your "Own Jobs" using the System menu. Once you have
ensured that the job is active, you can switch back to the transaction
SLAW and will then receive the lock message. By pressing the ENTER key,
you can repeatedly query the status of the background job (the lock
message is displayed again or is not displayed). After the background
job has been completed, the lock message is not displayed, but you do
not receive an explicit notification of the end of the job. The status
light for the consolidation does, however, change from red to green.

    Procedure for System Administrators

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.
