L9528
- Material & & cannot be used in inbound delivery because QM is active ?The SAP error message L9528 indicates that a material cannot be used in an inbound delivery because Quality Management (QM) is active for that material. This typically occurs when the system is configured to perform quality inspections on materials upon receipt, and the material in question does not meet the necessary criteria for processing in the inbound delivery.
Cause:
- Quality Management Activation: The material is flagged for quality inspection in the material master data, which means that any inbound delivery involving this material must go through a quality inspection process.
- Inspection Type: The inspection type associated with the material may not be properly configured or may not allow for the material to be processed in the inbound delivery.
- Stock Type: The stock type for the material may not be set up to allow for the material to be received directly into unrestricted stock without inspection.
Solution:
To resolve the error, you can take the following steps:
Check Material Master Data:
- Go to the material master record (transaction code MM03) and check the Quality Management view.
- Ensure that the inspection type is correctly configured for the material.
Review Inspection Types:
- Check the inspection types assigned to the material. You may need to adjust the settings for the inspection type to allow for the material to be processed in the inbound delivery.
- If necessary, you can change the inspection type to a different one that allows for the material to be received without inspection.
Adjust Stock Type:
- If the material is set to be received into a stock type that requires inspection (e.g., Quality Inspection stock), consider changing the stock type or adjusting the receiving process to accommodate the quality inspection.
Consult with QM Team:
- If you are unsure about the appropriate settings or changes, consult with your Quality Management team or SAP functional consultant to ensure compliance with quality standards and processes.
Testing:
- After making the necessary changes, perform a test inbound delivery to ensure that the error is resolved and that the material can be processed correctly.
