The SAP error message L5303, "Partial delivery not allowed. No TA creation for delivery &1," typically occurs in the context of logistics and delivery processing within the SAP system. This error indicates that the system is configured to disallow partial deliveries for a specific sales order or delivery, and as a result, it cannot create a transfer order (TA) for the delivery in question.

    Cause:

    1. Delivery Configuration: The sales order or delivery is configured to not allow partial deliveries. This setting can be found in the sales order or delivery document settings.
    2. Item Category Settings: The item category associated with the sales order may have settings that prevent partial deliveries.
    3. Delivery Type Settings: The delivery type may also have restrictions that do not permit partial deliveries.
    4. Stock Availability: There may be insufficient stock available to fulfill the entire order, but the system is configured to require full delivery.

    Solution:

    1. Check Sales Order/Delivery Settings:

      • Go to the sales order or delivery document in question and check the settings related to partial deliveries. You can do this by navigating to the item details and looking for the "Partial Delivery" option.
      • If you want to allow partial deliveries, you may need to change the settings in the sales order or delivery document.
    2. Review Item Category:

      • Check the item category configuration in the SAP system. You can do this by navigating to the item category settings in the customizing (SPRO) transaction.
      • Ensure that the item category allows for partial deliveries.
    3. Adjust Delivery Type:

      • Review the delivery type settings in the customizing (SPRO) transaction. Make sure that the delivery type allows for partial deliveries if that is the desired behavior.
    4. Stock Availability:

      • Ensure that there is enough stock available to fulfill the entire delivery. If stock is insufficient, consider adjusting stock levels or changing the delivery strategy.
    5. Consult with SAP Basis or Functional Consultant:

      • If you are unsure about making changes to the configuration, consult with your SAP Basis or functional consultant to ensure that any changes align with your organization's business processes.

    Related Information:

    • Transaction Codes: You may need to use transaction codes such as VA02 (Change Sales Order), VL02N (Change Outbound Delivery), or SPRO (Customizing) to access the relevant settings.
    • Documentation: Refer to SAP Help documentation for detailed information on configuring delivery settings and item categories.
    • User Exits or BAdIs: If your organization has specific business rules that require custom handling of deliveries, consider implementing user exits or Business Add-Ins (BAdIs) to manage partial deliveries according to your business needs.
