  • Show details Hide details
  • What causes this issue?

You want to generate a batch input file to clear possible stock
differences. So that the program has a consistent set of data for
Inventory Management and Warehouse Management, no postings affecting
stock levels may be executed while the program is running.

    System Response

For this reason, the program has tried to block all the materials in
    the respective warehouse number.
This block could not be set because in the warehouse number concerned
there are already material blocks, that is, it is most likely that
stock postings are currently taking place.

    How to fix this error?

To ensure a correct comparison of stock figures, you must first make
sure that no stock postings are taking place. If you merely want to
take a look at possible stock differences, you can start the report
without the function "Generate batch input file" and thus avoid the
    blocking problem.

    System Response

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message L1215 - No batch input session could be created because materials already blocked ?

The SAP error message L1215 indicates that a batch input session could not be created because the materials involved are already blocked. This typically occurs during processes that involve batch input sessions, such as data uploads or mass changes to material master records.

    Cause:

The error is usually caused by one of the following reasons:

    1. Material Blocked: The materials you are trying to process are blocked for some reason, such as being in a blocked status in the system.

    3. Configuration Issues: There may be configuration settings in the system that prevent batch input sessions from being created for certain materials.

    Solution:

To resolve the L1215 error, you can take the following steps:

      • If the materials are blocked, you may need to unlock them. This can be done by changing the status of the materials in the material master.
    3. Check for User Locks:

      • Use transaction code SM12 to check if there are any user locks on the materials. If you find locks that are no longer needed, you can delete them (ensure you have the necessary authorizations).
    4. Review Batch Input Session:

      • If you are using a batch input session, check the session logs for any additional error messages that might provide more context on why the session could not be created.
    5. Consult with SAP Basis Team:

      • If the issue persists, consult with your SAP Basis team or system administrator. They may need to check system logs or configuration settings that could be affecting batch input processing.
