Message text: Function group full -> Error creating view
You maintain the master data for a characteristic using a view and
special maintenance modules created for the view. In order to generate
the maintenance modules, you must assign the view to a reserved
function group, make an entry in table TVDIR and start program RSVIEWGN
or RSVIEWMA.
During the generation of the structure, a view is automatically
generated for new characteristics and an entry is written in table
TVDIR. You create view maintenance modules later in a dialog box when
you generate the structure environment.
Example of TVDIR entries for a characteristic with check table T2705
(two entries per characteristic):
The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.
View Func.grp Screen numberStart transaction SE54 'Generate view maintenance tool' and process the
function group. Remove maintenance modules which do not belong in this
group from the group.
You can also use the function 'Reorganize view maintenance modules' to
regenerate the entire function group.

KX693
- Function group full -> Error creating view ?The SAP error message KX693, which states "Function group full -> Error creating view," typically occurs when the system has reached the limit for the number of function modules or function groups that can be created in a particular function group. This can happen due to various reasons, including system limitations or configuration issues.
Causes:
- Function Group Limit Reached: Each function group in SAP has a limit on the number of function modules it can contain. If this limit is reached, you will encounter this error.
- System Configuration: The system may not be configured to allow for the creation of additional function modules or groups.
- Transport Issues: If you are trying to transport function groups or modules, there may be issues with the transport configuration or the target system.
Solutions:
Check Function Group Size: Review the function group in question to see how many function modules it currently contains. If it is full, consider the following:
- Create a New Function Group: If the current function group is full, you may need to create a new function group to house additional function modules.
- Refactor Existing Code: If possible, refactor existing function modules to reduce the number of modules in the full function group.
Increase Limits: If you have the necessary authorizations and system access, you may be able to increase the limits on function groups. This typically requires changes to system parameters and should be done with caution.
Check Transport Configuration: If the error occurs during a transport, ensure that the transport configuration is correct and that the target system is set up to accept the transport.
Consult SAP Notes: Check the SAP Support Portal for any relevant SAP Notes that may address this specific error. There may be patches or updates that can resolve the issue.
