SAP Error Message - Details

  • Message type: E = Error

  • Message class: KQ - Error Messages for Customizing Product Costing

  • Message number: 275

  • Message text: Dependent data being processed by user &1. Cannot save

  • Show details Hide details
  • What causes this issue?

The data of simplified Customizing of the valuation methods is being
displayed or changed by user &V1&. This means that the associated table
TKKAS_L is locked. For this reason it is not possible to lock the table
    for your change.
Because table TKKAS_L cannot be locked at this time, it is not possible
for the system to register the fact that the entry just saved was
changed in Expert Mode in simplified Customizing of the valuation
methods, which is necessary to avoid inconsistencies in Customizing.
    Note:
In Customizing for the valuation methods for
<DS:GLOS.WIP_calculation>WIP calculation</>, you must create an
associated entry in simplified Customizing of the valuation methods of
<DS:GLOS.results_analysis>results analysis</> because it should be
possible to access the entries for WIP calculation from Customizing for
    results analysis.

    System Response

    The save attempt is terminated.

    How to fix this error?

Repeat the save when table TKKAS_L is released. This requires that user
&V1& leave the maintenance transaction for simplified Customizing of
    the valuation methods.

  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message KQ275 - Dependent data being processed by user &1. Cannot save ?

The SAP error message KQ275, which states "Dependent data being processed by user &1. Cannot save," typically occurs in the context of SAP Controlling (CO) or when dealing with cost center accounting, internal orders, or similar modules. This error indicates that the system is unable to save the data because another user is currently processing dependent data related to the same object.

    Cause:

    1. Concurrent User Access: Another user is currently editing or processing data that is dependent on the data you are trying to save. This could be due to simultaneous transactions on the same cost center, internal order, or other related objects.
    2. Lock Mechanism: SAP uses a locking mechanism to prevent data inconsistencies. When one user is working on a particular object, it is locked for others until the first user completes their transaction.
    3. Long-running Transactions: If a user has a long-running transaction, it may hold the lock for an extended period, causing other users to encounter this error.

    Solution:

    1. Wait and Retry: The simplest solution is to wait for the other user to complete their transaction. Once the lock is released, you can try saving your data again.
    2. Identify the User: If you have the necessary authorizations, you can use transaction code SM12 to check for locks in the system. This will show you which user is holding the lock on the dependent data.
    3. Communicate with the User: If you identify the user holding the lock, you can communicate with them to see if they can complete their transaction or release the lock.
    4. Transaction Monitoring: If this issue occurs frequently, consider monitoring transaction times and user activities to identify any bottlenecks or long-running processes that may be causing locks.
    5. System Configuration: In some cases, it may be beneficial to review system configurations or settings related to locking mechanisms, but this should be done with caution and typically involves consulting with your SAP Basis or technical team.

    Related Information:

    • Transaction Codes: Familiarize yourself with transaction codes like SM12 (to view locks), SM21 (to check system logs), and ST22 (to check dumps) for troubleshooting.
    • User Training: Ensure that users are trained on how to properly save and exit transactions to minimize the chances of leaving locks in the system.
    • SAP Notes: Check for any relevant SAP Notes or updates that may address known issues related to this error message.

If the problem persists despite following these steps, it may be necessary to involve your SAP support team or consult SAP documentation for further assistance.
