KQ143
- Status no. of status TECO must be higher than that of status REL ?The SAP error message KQ143, which states "Status no. of status TECO must be higher than that of status REL," typically occurs in the context of controlling (CO) and project systems (PS) when trying to change the status of a project or order. This error indicates that the system is enforcing a status sequence that must be followed when managing project or order statuses.
Cause:
The error arises because the system has a predefined sequence of statuses for project management or order management. In this case, the status "TECO" (Technically Completed) must be set after the status "REL" (Released). If you attempt to set the status TECO without first ensuring that the status REL is properly set and in the correct sequence, the system will throw this error.
Solution:
To resolve this error, you should follow these steps:
Check Current Status: Verify the current status of the project or order. You can do this by navigating to the relevant transaction (e.g., CJ20N for project management or CO02 for order management) and checking the status overview.
Change Status Sequence:
- If the project or order is not yet released (REL), you need to release it first. This can typically be done by selecting the project/order and choosing the option to release it.
- After the project/order is released, you can then proceed to set the status to TECO.
Use the Correct Transactions: Ensure you are using the correct transactions for changing statuses. For example, use CJ20N for projects or CO02 for production orders.
Authorization: Ensure that you have the necessary authorizations to change the status of the project or order. Lack of proper authorization can sometimes lead to unexpected errors.
Consult Documentation: If you are unsure about the status sequence or the implications of changing statuses, consult your organization's SAP documentation or reach out to your SAP support team for guidance.
Related Information:
