The SAP error message KP580 ("No header-assigned networks can be planned") typically occurs in the context of project system (PS) or controlling (CO) modules when you are trying to plan costs or activities for a network that does not have a valid header assignment. This can happen in various scenarios, such as when you are working with networks in project planning or cost planning.

    Cause:

    1. Missing Header Assignment: The network you are trying to plan does not have a valid header assignment. This means that the network is not linked to a project or a WBS (Work Breakdown Structure) element.
    2. Incorrect Network Status: The network might be in a status that does not allow planning, such as "Not Released" or "Closed."
    3. Authorization Issues: The user may not have the necessary authorizations to access or plan the network.
    4. Configuration Issues: There may be configuration settings in the system that prevent planning for certain types of networks.

    Solution:

    1. Check Header Assignment: Ensure that the network is correctly assigned to a project or WBS element. You can do this by navigating to the network in the SAP system and checking its header details.
    2. Change Network Status: If the network is not released, you may need to release it. This can be done in the network maintenance transaction (e.g., CN22).
    3. Review Authorizations: Ensure that the user has the necessary authorizations to plan on the network. This may involve checking user roles and permissions in the SAP system.
    4. Configuration Review: If the issue persists, consult with your SAP configuration team to review the settings related to network planning and ensure they are set up correctly.
    5. Use Transaction Codes: Use transaction codes like CN21 (Create Network), CN22 (Change Network), and CN41 (Display Network) to manage networks and check their details.
