KN233
- Quantities with differing units added in the object list ?The SAP error message KN233 ("Quantities with differing units added in the object list") typically occurs when there is an attempt to add or process quantities that are expressed in different units of measure (UoM) within a transaction or report. This can happen in various contexts, such as during the creation of sales orders, purchase orders, or inventory management.
Cause:
- Different Units of Measure: The most common cause of this error is that the system is trying to sum or process quantities that are in different units of measure. For example, if one item is measured in pieces (EA) and another in kilograms (KG), the system cannot perform operations on these quantities without a conversion.
- Incorrect Master Data: The master data for materials or products may not be set up correctly, leading to inconsistencies in the units of measure.
- Configuration Issues: There may be issues in the configuration of the material master or the sales/purchase document types that allow for incompatible units of measure.
Solution:
- Check Units of Measure: Review the quantities being processed and ensure that they are all in the same unit of measure. If they are not, convert them to a common unit before processing.
- Review Master Data: Check the material master records for the items involved. Ensure that the base unit of measure and any alternative units of measure are correctly defined.
- Adjust Document Entries: If you are entering data manually, ensure that you are using the correct unit of measure for each item. If necessary, correct the entries before proceeding.
- Use Conversion Factors: If you need to work with different units, make sure that the appropriate conversion factors are set up in the system. This allows SAP to convert quantities automatically when needed.
- Consult Documentation: Refer to SAP documentation or help resources for specific guidance on handling units of measure in the context of your transaction.
