    &V1& in controlling area &V2&. However, master data also exist in the
    inactive version for this profit center.

    System Response

    The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

    How to fix this error?

    In individual processing, changes to a profit center's master data
    record are initially carried out in an inactive version, which only
    becomes operational once activated.
    In this case, you are changin a profit center using mass maintenance or
    a BAPI function module. In both of these cases, the changes you make
    will have immediate effect in the active version of the master data.
    Check whether the inactive version of the master data still makes sense
    following the change (to the active version) and, if necessary, remove
    it (<ZK>Edit -> Remove Inactive Version </>).
    Alternatively, active the inactive version and then edit the active
    version directly.
