Message text: Data relevant to costing was changed. Adjust cost estimate
You have made changes to master data that are relevant to costing (such
as the costing sheet, overhead key, plant, or profit center). This can
result in inconsistencies between the master data and the cost estimate
concerned.
The system does not allow you to save the master data.
Go to the cost estimate by choosing the <LS>Change cost estimate</>
function, and save it again. This updates the master data, which you
can then saved.

KK059
- Data relevant to costing was changed. Adjust cost estimate ?The SAP error message KK059 ("Data relevant to costing was changed. Adjust cost estimate") typically occurs in the context of cost accounting and cost estimates in SAP. This message indicates that some data that is relevant to the cost estimate has been modified after the cost estimate was created, and therefore, the cost estimate needs to be adjusted to reflect these changes.
Cause:
Changes in Master Data: Changes in master data such as material master, bill of materials (BOM), routing, or work center can lead to this error. For example, if the cost of a material or the time required for a process has been updated, the existing cost estimate may no longer be valid.
Changes in Costing Variants: If the costing variant settings have been altered, it may affect how costs are calculated, leading to the need for an adjustment.
Changes in Production Versions: If the production version of a material has been changed, it can also lead to discrepancies in the cost estimate.
Changes in Activity Prices: If the prices of activities or overhead rates have been modified, the existing cost estimates will need to be recalculated.
Solution:
To resolve the KK059 error, you will need to adjust the cost estimate. Here are the steps to do so:
Review Changes: Identify what changes were made to the relevant data (e.g., material master, BOM, routing, etc.) that triggered the error.
Recalculate Cost Estimate:
- Go to the transaction code CK11N (Create Cost Estimate with Quantity Structure) or CK40N (Change Cost Estimate).
- Enter the relevant material and plant.
- Execute the cost estimate again to recalculate it based on the updated data.
Check Costing Variants: Ensure that the costing variant settings are correct and have not been inadvertently changed.
Adjust Activity Prices: If there have been changes to activity prices or overhead rates, ensure that these are updated in the system.
Repost or Reprocess: If necessary, repost or reprocess any transactions that were affected by the changes in costing data.
