Message type: E = Error
Message class: KJ - Cost Object Controlling for Make-to-Order Production
Message number: 801
Message text: Report data may differ from data determined in test run
You are calling up the Work in Process report for an order. However,
the WIP was <DS:GLOS.WIP_calculation>calculated</> in a test run.
If changes relevant to the selected order that affect the value of the
<DS:GLOS.work_in_process>WIP</> have been made since the last time the
<DS:GLOS.results_analysis_data>results analysis data</> (WIP, in your
case) was updated, the WIP report will not show current figures.
The system uses the WIP data that was updated to the database to
display the report.
If you want the Work in Process report to show current figures,
calculate the WIP for the corresponding order in an update run (the
<LS>Test run</> indicator must be turned off).

The SAP error message KJ801, which states "Report data may differ from data determined in test run," typically occurs in the context of running reports or executing certain transactions in SAP that involve data processing. This message is a warning rather than a critical error, indicating that the results of the report may not match what was seen during a test run due to changes in data or configuration.
Cause:
- Data Changes: The underlying data may have changed since the test run was executed. This could include changes in master data, transactional data, or configuration settings.
- Selection Criteria: The selection criteria used in the test run may differ from those used in the actual run, leading to different results.
- Report Configuration: Changes in the report configuration or parameters can also lead to discrepancies between test and actual runs.
- Background Jobs: If the report is run in the background, other jobs may have updated the data in the meantime.
Solution:
- Verify Data Consistency: Check if there have been any changes to the data since the test run. Ensure that the data is consistent and that no updates have occurred that would affect the report results.
- Review Selection Criteria: Ensure that the selection criteria used in the test run match those used in the actual report execution. Adjust them if necessary.
- Run a New Test: If possible, run a new test with the same parameters to see if the results align. This can help confirm whether the issue is due to data changes.
- Check Report Configuration: Review the report configuration and parameters to ensure they are set correctly and have not been altered since the test run.
- Consult Documentation: Refer to SAP documentation or help resources for specific guidance related to the report you are running, as there may be known issues or additional settings that need to be considered.

SAP messages fall into 3 different categories: Error messages
(message type = E), Warnings (W) or Informational (I) messages.
An error message will prevent you from continuing your work - it is a hard stop and you need to fix the error before you can proceed. A warning message will stop your work, however, you can then bypass the warning by pressing the Enter key on your keyboard. That said, it is still good practice to investigate the cause of the warning message and address it. An information message will not stop your work and is truly just for informational purposes.
