The SAP error message KG1200, which states "You do not have authorization to call up the general overview," typically indicates that the user does not have the necessary authorizations to access a specific transaction or report in the SAP system. This error is commonly encountered in the context of controlling (CO) modules, particularly when trying to access reports or overviews related to cost centers, internal orders, or profitability analysis.

    Cause:

    1. Missing Authorizations: The user role assigned to the individual does not include the necessary authorizations for the transaction or report they are trying to access.
    2. Authorization Object Restrictions: Specific authorization objects related to controlling (e.g., K_AUSW, K_TCODE) may not be properly configured for the user.
    3. User Role Issues: The user may not be assigned to the correct role that includes the required permissions.

    Solution:

    1. Check User Roles: Verify the roles assigned to the user in the SAP system. This can be done by using transaction code SU01 to view the user profile.
    2. Review Authorizations: Use transaction code SU53 immediately after encountering the error to check the authorization check that failed. This will provide insight into which specific authorization object is missing.
    3. Modify Roles: If you have the necessary permissions, you can modify the user roles using transaction code PFCG to include the required authorizations. If you do not have the necessary access, you will need to contact your SAP security administrator.
    4. Authorization Object Analysis: Identify the relevant authorization objects that are required for the transaction and ensure that the user has the necessary permissions. Common authorization objects for controlling include:
      • K_AUSW (Authorization for CO Reports)
