Message text: Higher-level characteristic not suitable for hierarchy: See long text
The characteristic values of hierarchy &V1& of characteristic &V2& is
still dependent on one or more characteristic values. In this case the
value &V3&. These independent characteristics must be contained in the
general selections of the planning layout, which means that they are
not allowed in the rows or columns. The characteristic values for the
independent characteristics therefore build a filter for the
characteristic values occurring in the hierarchy. The system selects
from the hierarchy all the characteristic values that are suitable for
the values of the independent characteristics. In this case there were
no suitable characteristic values.
Example: A hierarchy exists for the "Cost center" characteristic. To
this "Cost center" characteristic belongs the "Controlling area"
independent characteristic. If the current controlling area is 0001,
the system selects from the hierarchy all the characteristic values
(pages in the hierarchy - in this case, cost centers) that belong to
controlling area 0001. If there are no cost centers for controlling
area 0001 in the hierarchy, the system issues the current message.
The entries are not accepted by the system
Select the characteristic value of the higher-level characteristic in
the planning layout or when replacing a variable in the initial screen,
so that suitable characteristic values occur in the hierarchy. You can
display the characteristic values for the hierarchy using the input
help F4.

Solution:
Check Characteristic Configuration: Review the configuration of the characteristics involved in the hierarchy. Ensure that the higher-level characteristic is defined correctly and is suitable for use in a hierarchy.
Review Master Data: Ensure that all necessary master data for the characteristics is complete and correctly maintained. This includes checking for any missing entries or incorrect data types.
Hierarchy Definition: Verify the hierarchy definition in the system. Make sure that the higher-level characteristic is properly defined and that it is intended to be used as a higher-level characteristic.
