  • Show details Hide details
  • What causes this issue?

The prerequisites for carrying out the action have not been fulfilled.
Exactly two components groups must be transferred to the action. These
components groups must be assigned to two different calls.
The components cannot yet be delivered. At least one components group
must already be released for production, but the other one should not
yet be produced. You can define, by means of an indicator in the
control profile for internal calls, that a components group must
already be produced (confirmation from production completed).
The components group, which has already been produced is typically a
storage location call (call type 'I'), and the other a concrete (new)
customer JIT call. You can define this criterion as a mandatory
criterion in the control profile for internal calls.

    System Response

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

    How to fix this error?

Check the settings in the IMG activity
<DS:SIMG.SIMG_CFMENULEOJIT8>Define control profile for internal calls
    </>.
Repeat the action with two suitable components groups.

  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message JIT00422 - It is not possible to switch components groups ?

The SAP error message JIT00422, which states "It is not possible to switch components groups," typically occurs in the context of Just-In-Time (JIT) delivery processes. This error can arise when there is an attempt to change or switch component groups in a JIT scenario, but the system does not allow it due to certain constraints or conditions.

    Causes:

    1. Incorrect Configuration: The configuration settings for the JIT process may not allow for the switching of component groups.
    2. Dependencies: There may be dependencies or relationships between components that prevent switching.
    3. Status of Components: The status of the components involved may not permit changes (e.g., if they are already in use or have been processed).
    4. Document Flow: If there are existing documents (like delivery or production orders) that reference the component groups, the system may restrict changes to maintain data integrity.
    5. User Authorizations: The user may not have the necessary authorizations to perform the action.

    Solutions:

    1. Check Configuration: Review the JIT configuration settings in the system to ensure that switching component groups is allowed. This may involve checking the settings in the JIT customizing (transaction SPRO).
    2. Review Component Status: Ensure that the components you are trying to switch are not in a status that prevents changes. You may need to complete or cancel existing processes related to those components.
    3. Document Review: Check for any existing documents that may be linked to the component groups. If there are dependencies, you may need to resolve them before switching.
    4. User Permissions: Verify that the user attempting the switch has the necessary permissions to perform this action. If not, consult with your SAP security team to adjust the authorizations.
    5. Consult SAP Notes: Look for any relevant SAP Notes or documentation that may address this specific error. SAP frequently updates its knowledge base with solutions for common issues.
