</> is set for requirement explosion.
    <ZH>or</>
The item category does not support quantity-based inventory management.
The order is not planned for individual customer requirements:
There is no assignment to a WBS element or a sales order item.

    Check

  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message IW022 - Material & only for individual requirements (check entry) ?

The SAP error message IW022 ("Material & only for individual requirements (check entry)") typically occurs in the context of creating or processing maintenance orders or work orders in SAP. This error indicates that the material you are trying to use is set up for individual requirements planning, but the system is expecting a different type of requirement (like collective requirements).

    Cause:

    1. Material Master Settings: The material in question is configured in the material master as having individual requirements. This means that the material is intended to be planned and consumed on a one-to-one basis, rather than being part of a collective or bulk requirement.
    2. Order Type Configuration: The order type you are using may not be compatible with materials that are set for individual requirements.
    3. Incorrect Requirement Type: The system may be expecting a different type of requirement (e.g., collective requirements) based on the configuration of the order or the material.

    Solution:

    1. Check Material Master:

      • Go to the material master record (transaction code MM03) and check the MRP (Material Requirements Planning) views. Ensure that the settings for the material are appropriate for the type of order you are trying to create.
      • If the material should be used for collective requirements, consider changing the MRP type or the planning strategy.
    2. Review Order Type:

      • Check the configuration of the order type you are using (transaction code OPL8 for order types). Ensure that it is compatible with the material's requirement type.
      • If necessary, adjust the order type settings to allow for individual requirements.
    3. Adjust Requirement Type:

      • If the material is indeed meant for individual requirements, ensure that the order or process you are using is set up to handle individual requirements correctly.
    4. Consult Documentation:

      • Review SAP documentation or consult with your SAP support team for specific configurations related to your organization's setup.
    5. Testing:

      • After making changes, test the process again to ensure that the error does not reoccur.
