Message type: E = Error
Message class: IU - Incremental Conversion (ICNV)
Message number: 026
Message text: Table &: Conversion processes still working
The current table should be brought to another status. At the same
time, at least one conversion process is running to transfer data. The
two process types mutually exclude each other.
The table is skipped and the program is continued normally. A status
switch is usually compulsory. You therefore have to try again after
finishing the data transfer.
If your system is being upgraded, repeat the current upgrade phase. In
all other cases, deschedule the conversion processes using Transaction
ICNV, wait for the conversion processes to finish and then repeat the
status switch.

IU026
- Table &: Conversion processes still working ?The SAP error message IU026, which states "Table &: Conversion processes still working," typically indicates that there are ongoing conversion processes related to the specified table in the SAP system. This error can occur during various operations, such as data updates, migrations, or when trying to access or modify data in a table that is currently being processed.
Cause:
- Ongoing Conversion Processes: The most common cause of this error is that a background job or a conversion process is still running for the specified table. This could be due to data migration, updates, or other batch processes that are modifying the table.
- Locking Mechanism: SAP uses a locking mechanism to prevent data inconsistencies. If a process is still working on the table, it will lock the table, leading to this error when another process tries to access it.
- Long-Running Jobs: Sometimes, jobs may take longer than expected due to large data volumes or performance issues, causing this error to persist.
Solution:
- Check Background Jobs: Use transaction code SM37 to check for any background jobs that are currently running. Look for jobs related to the table in question and see if they are still active.
- Wait for Completion: If you find that a job is running, you may need to wait for it to complete. Once the job finishes, the lock on the table should be released, and you can proceed with your operation.
- Terminate Long-Running Jobs: If a job is taking too long and you suspect it may be stuck, you can consider terminating it. However, be cautious with this approach, as it may lead to data inconsistencies.
- Check for Locks: Use transaction code SM12 to check for any locks on the table. If you find locks that are not being released, you may need to investigate further or contact your SAP Basis team.
- Review Logs: Check the application logs or job logs for any errors or warnings that might indicate why the conversion process is taking longer than expected.
Related Information:
If the problem persists after following these steps, it may be beneficial to consult with your SAP Basis or technical team for further investigation.
