    The Customizing setting is such that existing notes can only be extended
    and not changed. This applies to both the note text and to the
    attributes of the note (communication type, topic, and so on).

    The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

    How to fix this error?

    If you really do want to change the attributes, you must change the
    setting in Customizing activity <ZK>Set Permitted Processing Type for
    Notes (per Line of Business)</> to the value <ZK>Can Be Changed</>.
