  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message ICL2035 - Internal claim type &1 generation &2: Active versions overlap ?

The SAP error message ICL2035 indicates that there is an issue with the internal claim type generation where active versions of the claim overlap. This typically occurs in the context of the SAP Claims Management module, where multiple versions of a claim type are defined, and the system detects that the validity periods of these versions overlap, which is not allowed.

    Cause:

The error is caused by the following scenarios:

    1. Overlapping Validity Periods: Two or more versions of the same internal claim type have overlapping validity periods. For example, if one version is valid from January 1, 2023, to December 31, 2023, and another version is valid from June 1, 2023, to December 31, 2023, this will trigger the error.
    2. Incorrect Configuration: The configuration of claim types may not have been set up correctly, leading to overlapping periods.
    3. Data Entry Errors: Manual entry errors during the creation or modification of claim types can lead to overlaps.

    Solution:

To resolve the ICL2035 error, you can take the following steps:

    1. Check Active Versions:

      • Identify any overlapping validity periods.
    2. Adjust Validity Periods:

      • Modify the validity periods of the claim types to ensure that they do not overlap. You may need to either extend or shorten the periods of one or more versions.
    3. Deactivate Unused Versions:

      • If there are versions that are no longer needed, consider deactivating them to eliminate the overlap.
    4. Consult Documentation:

      • Review SAP documentation or help resources related to Claims Management for best practices on managing claim types and their versions.
    5. Testing:

      • After making changes, test the configuration to ensure that the error no longer occurs and that the claim types function as expected.
